Research Interests:
Dr. Pierce's research interests are focused on the adult-child relationship, including the predictors of sensitive parenting and caregiving, and the power of the early adult-child relationship to form the crucible in which the child's sense of self is forged.

Professional and Notable Activities:
Dr. Pierce has recently served as Vice-Chairman of the LSU Collegium of Science & Religion, as Vice-President of the Faculty Senate, as Treasurer of the LSU chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), and as an member of the Faculty Senate's Admissions, Standards, & Honors Committees.


Honors and Awards:
Dr. Pierce has been awarded the Tiger Athletic Foundation Award for Outstanding Teacher in the College of Agriculture, as well as numerous Gamma Sigma Delta Teaching Merit awards.
