Welcome to the Family, Child, and Consumer Sciences Division in the School of Human Ecology at Louisiana State University. Our mission is helping individuals and families thrive in a changing world through research, teaching, and extension. Faculty in Family, Child, and Consumer Sciences (FCCS) are committed to the generation of new knowledge and the dissemination and application of this knowledge base. At the undergraduate level, we offer a B.S. degree with concentrations in Human Services Management and Early Childhood Administration and Leadership. A collaborative program in Early Childhood Education: PreK-3 Teacher Certification is offered through the College of Education. At the graduate level, we offer a M.S. and Ph.D. with concentrations in Family, Child, and Consumer Sciences and Early Childhood Education.

Several core areas cut across the research, teaching, and extension programs in FCCS: family stress and coping, family financial security, parenting, and developmentally appropriate practices. Other research and multidisciplinary extension initiatives build upon and support these major areas.

  FCCS Division Head
